Journalists' freedoms in Fiji have come under fire as a result of a recent media decree which forbids media outlets from broadcasting "against the public order" and creates a government-appointed tribunal to field complaints.

Women have been doing noteworthy work as journalists in Bangladesh as well as elsewhere during the last decade. But their number in both print and electronic media in our country is less than expected.

The International Media Institute of India (IMII) will open July 5 in New Delhi, offering cutting-edge training in print, audio, video, Web and mobile news production. At the end of the program, students will receive a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism and will be fully qualified to work as reporters or copy editors in traditional or new media platforms.
