How do you find new sources?

We've recently profiled websites like Profnet and Help a Reporter Out to find sources - but when you're on deadline, how do you find the right people to talk to?

The fastest way - is to go to the place where your story is taking place or took place and talk to everyone you meet. And also you must look up old articles to find names or companies previously used as sources, either from your news organization or its competitors.

I use online sources, but often the quickest way is to use the telephone and your imagination. You can spend way too much time waiting for someone to answer your email...
