Business Marketing Association Elects 2011 Leadership Team

Al Maag named National Board Chair for 2011; Eduardo Conrado named National Vice Chair

Al Maag, chief communications officer of Avnet, Inc. and new national board chairman of BMA, revs up the crowd at BMA's annual international conference "Unleash 2011" in Chicago. BMA and Avnet are the sponsors of the #16 Mustang in the Saturday, June 4, 2011, NASCAR event in Chicago. The car's driver is Daytona 500 winner, Trevor Bayne.

BMA announced the election of its national leadership team for the 2011-12 fiscal year. Allen Maag, chief communications officer of Avnet, Inc.  was named 2011 national chairman. Eduardo Conrado, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Motorola Solutions, will serve as vice chair. The new leadership team was unveiled in conjunction with the BMA’s annual international conference, “Unleash 2011,” in Chicago, IL.

Maag joined Avnet as the chief of communications in 1998 and is responsible for brand management which includes global public relations, investor relations marketing, community relations and corporate communications. A member of the BMA for seven years, Maag most recently served as the board’s vice chair.

“I am honored to now serve as Chairman on the BMA’s National Board of Directors. With its unique legacy, the BMA stands as a beacon of knowledge and expertise among business-to-business focused marketing and communications professionals. I look forward to working with the other members of the board to continue the BMA’s longstanding commitment to professional development, expand our membership and grow our organization,” said Maag.

BMA works to increase the impact and value of marketing in businesses worldwide. Extending to over 22 local chapters, the organization has grown its membership base and is now one of the largest communities of business- to-business (B2B) marketing professionals.

Eduardo Conrado, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Motorola Solutions, will serve as BMA vice chair. He leads the global team that has been the force behind the creation and rollout of Motorola Solutions’ new strategic brand framework, including purpose, brand promise, values and voice, as well as the company’s successful integrated marketing strategy. Mr. Conrado ensures there is a single unified voice across all communications channels – from branding and marketing strategies, to product and channel marketing to global communications and interactive marketing.
