BMA partners with research organization The FORUM
Michelle M. Smith and Rick Blabolil became the newest members of the BMA International Board of Directors in October. They will lead the development of a research arm. The initiative will be built through a partnership with the academic institution The FORUM: Business Results Through People.

ProAds: Emisare named Best of Show
Emisare took home Best of Show and top honors at the ProAds Awards gala, a BMA Carolinas event held last month. The Greensboro, N.C., agency created a series of print advertisements for the biannual High Point Market. The tradeshow draws 45,000 home furnishings professionals to North Carolina each year.

Forget alignment, think synergy

"Alignment" commonly is used to describe the relationship between sales and marketing. But in the context of revenue marketing, the word synergy more aptly expresses the connection," writes the Pedowitz Group's Debbie Qaqish, who recently published the book The Rise of the Revenue Marketer. Forbes/gyro: Marketers feeling optimistic
Forbes Insights and agency gyro launched a quarterly CMO Index that gauges the sentiment of marketing executives. The inaugural report reflected the overriding optimism of the more than 875 respondents. But it also revealed that marketers are approaching new products and new markets with caution.
