Gary Slack spearheads planning for the 2013 International BMA Conference, which will take place May 29-31 in Chicago. The chairman and chief experience officer of Slack and Co. already has organized the annual conference four times, and the event has tripled in size during his tenure.
Al Maag, chief communications officer-Avnet, initiated the first Business Marketing Association salary survey while he was serving as national chairman of the BMA. More than 530 industry professionals participated in the online survey. They shared information about their pay, their ambitions and their satisfaction with their current job roles.

Gary Slack left Doremus in 1988 to build a Chicago-based business-to-business marketing agency. He carried charter client NutraSweet with him to a six-person startup then known as Slack Lasky Brown.

Chief Organizer, BMA14
The Global BMA Conference has grown at a steady clip for the past five years, and organizers expect to see attendance at the Chicago event swell by another 15% to 20% this year.
The success brings change. The conference, held May 28-30, will move to a larger hotel, host more speakers than ever before and drop its annual conference theme in favor of what has become the accepted shorthand.

BMA14 speakers are reaching an audience much larger than the more than 1,000 attendees who traveled to Chicago for the three-day event in May. Organizers tapped video production and event content management company ISEBOX to capture sessions and make the content available online via an event microsite. The site had garnered more than 16,750 unique page views by July 22.
