By Michele Bollig, marketing manager-Ricoh Eduardo Conrado Katherine Button Bell Eileen Zicchino Do you ever wonder what inspires top marketing teams to produce incredible results? By Kathy Button Bell Kathy Button Bell We’re not just the Chief Marketing Person any more. Let’s face it. Our job is changing quarterly, if not faster.

Kathy Button Bell Al Maag Michael Brenner Carla Johnson The Business Marketing Association formally introduced its 2013-2014 board of directors last week, coupling the news with an announcement regarding the release of a joint BMA-Forrester Research report. The juxtaposition of the two news items was no coincidence. The report looks at the changing role of the CMO, and it spells out the industry challenges that will shape the work of the association and its 29-member board.

Kathy Button Bell 2013-2014 BMA Board Chair  Fellow BMA Members: One of the things I love most about my role on the BMA Board of Directors is the people I meet. In the last few years, I’ve visited with members around the country and spoken at many chapter meetings. While many people come to hear about my experience, I’m always fascinated by what I learn from them.

BMA Buzz: What are your plans for 2014? How is your strategy evolving, and what are your budget priorities? Kathy Button Bell BMA Chair VP-CMO Emerson Electric Co. Kathy Button Bell: The job that marketing is responsible for keeps getting broader. We are increasingly involved in market research behind new product development and [we’re reshaping] the digital customer experience.

Chris Schermer When the Business Marketing Association rolls out unified branding and relaunches its website on May 20, the changes go well beyond cosmetic.  The transformation also will help the association better meet the promise of its new tagline, “BMA: Your connection to B2B.” The association is moving quickly to solidify its role as the leading resource for business marketers.

By Andrea Hubbert, president-elect, BMA Milwaukee Andrea Hubbert BMA Milwaukee has focused its keynote series on the changing role B2B marketing plays in driving business results. We capped off our keynote series last week with a program that honored our chapter’s presidential legacy and awarded scholarships to two future B2B marketers. Kathy Button Bell, BMA national board chair, also was on hand, delivering a rallying cry to “destroy silos.

By Kate Maddox for the BMA14 Show Daily BMA14, the Business Marketing Association’s annual conference in Chicago, kicked off Wednesday before a crowd of nearly 1,000 attendees, making it “the single largest b-to-b professional event anywhere on the planet,” said incoming BMA chairman Steve Liguori. Liguori, executive director-global innovation and new models at GE, was joined on stage by Kathy Button Bell, outgoing BMA chairman and VP-CMO at Emerson Electric Co., following an introduction video that showed Button Bell skydiving and Liguori paddling up the Chicago River to get to the event.
