Contest for reporting on palliative care open [Africa]
Journalists working for local, regional or international media organizations can apply for a contest honoring reports about palliative care in Africa.
The award is offered by the African Palliative Care Association (APCA), with funding from the Open Society Foundations.
Reports can be a news or feature article published in a newspaper, magazine or news website, a television or radio report, or a third party blog.
Entrants can submit one report in either English, French or Portuguese, published or broadcast between July 1, 2012, and July 31, 2013.
The winning journalist will be awarded US$1,500, and the media outlet carrying the winning report, US$500. Runner-ups will receive US$750, US$500 and US$250. Winners will receive their awards during the APCA-HPCA palliative care conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, in September.
The deadline is July 31.
