“Scenarios from Africa” film contest in Nigeria calls for submissions

Community and Youth Development Initiatives and Imo State Action Committee on AIDS have launched the fifth edition of the Scenarios from Africa contest in Nigeria. The contest will be accepting entries until March 15, 2008.
Young African journalists or aspiring journalists below the age of 25 are invited to submit storylines for short films on HIV/AIDS. A selection of the winning entries will be adapted into professional films by some of Africa’s top directors. The completed films will then be dubbed into multiple languages, broadcast across the continent and donated to organizations working to fight HIV/AIDS.
The Scenarios from Africa contest was established to help local institutions develop effective HIV/AIDS education. All winners will receive a medal, certificate, Scenarios from Africa DVD set and a cash prize of US$50. Thirty top participants will be chosen as international winners and will receive a cash prize of US$125. The grand prize winner will receive US$1,500.
