2007 the worst year for Egyptian media

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (HRInfo) released its 2007 annual freedom of opinion and expression findings in the Egypt Annual Report. The report found that that 2007 was the worst year for Egyptian media since the country’s independence in 1952. 

The report looks at which press freedom laws the Egyptian authorities regularly disobey and which legislation they use to fine or arrest journalists. It also outlines cases of violations against journalists and bloggers as well as artists.
