The Associated Press seeks a photo editor based in Cairo for its Middle East photo desk.

Primary responsibilities include the intake and processing of news, sports, business and entertainment photos filed by photographers in the Middle East; reviewing and editing the photos for picture quality and caption accuracy for transmission to AP customers worldwide; and keen picture judgment and news judgment.

Candidates must have demonstrated superior photo and news judgment and the ability to work accurately and with speed under deadline pressure. Excellent organizational skills are required. Substantial experience as a news photographer and/or photo editor is essential. Experience communicating with photographers on deadline is highly desired.
