Arab university news publication seeks managing editor

The Alexandria Trust, a nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced managing editor for a new publication that will focus on universities and other post-secondary education in the Arab world.

The successful candidate will be capable of creating assignments for news stories and features; working with reporters to guide them during their assignments; and doing strong editing for organization, style, flow and factual correctness.

Applicants should have a minimum of seven years' journalism experience, with three years' editing experience. Interest and experience in social media is a must. Candidates should be based in Beirut, Cairo or Amman, or must be willing to relocate. Fluency in Arabic (most important) and English is required, and the ability to speak and write in French is an advantage.
