Audio storytelling contest open [Worldwide]

Deadline:

10/15/12

Radio journalists from around the world can participate in this contest.

The Public Radio Exchange (PRX), in collaboration with the Open Society Foundations, is accepting entries for its Global Story Project.

The contest focuses on audio-only works about subjects, stories and issues outside of the United States that inform, enlighten and connect U.S. listeners to the rest of the world. PRX is looking for proposals for groundbreaking stories--long-form works, segment length pieces and reversioned materials.

While the pieces can be produced in the U.S., the subjects, audio and reporting have to take place outside the U.S.

PRX will award a total of US$50,000 to projects based on proposed budgets, the ambition of the projects, the application criteria and the overall ability of the applicants to deliver the goods.

The application deadline is October 15.
