Journalistic works that utilize social science research methods, such as demographic or ethnographic study, can be entered to the Phillip Meyer Journalism Award, sponsored by Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE).
Deadline: October 31.

TV, radio, print, book, and online works published or aired between September 30, 2008 and October 1, 2009 are eligible. Non-English submissions should be accompanied by English translations.

Student IRE members can submit their work for free and professional members must pay a fee of US$55. Nonmember students must pay US$25 for their submissions and nonmember professionals are charged a fee of US$115. The first place winner will receive US$500.
