Algerian journalists or journalists based in Algeria can apply for one of these workshops.

The BBC is leading a series of workshops, as part of the EU-funded Media Neighbourhood Project, in the areas of professional journalism, new media and management. The first course is BBC News Reporting Course, May 6 - 8.

Participants will learn how to make stories relevant and engaging for the audience, journalistic ethics, and professional interviewing techniques.

Candidates must have at least two years of reporting or editing experience and the ability to cover international news. Participants will be expected to produce a portfolio of stories to be delivered and evaluated in the second workshop.

The second course addresses ethics in multi-platform journalism, and will be held between June 16 - 20. The third course focuses on financial independence, and is targeted toward media managers and senior editors. It will take place June 9 - 13.
