BBC Newsgathering is seeking an editor to take overall managerial, editorial and financial responsibility for World Newsgathering.

The editor will ensure that agreed editorial principles and guidelines are followed, and will contribute to the overall direction of Newsgathering, editorially and managerially.

The successful candidate will have a track record at a senior management level in news programming, with sound editorial judgement and comprehensive understanding of the BBC’s strategic objectives. Applicants should also have journalistic experience at the highest level and a thorough knowledge of news and current affairs in the UK, Europe and internationally.
