Broadcast journalism awards open [US]

Broadcast, digital and documentary journalists whose work has aired in the United States can apply for this award.

The duPont-Columbia Awards is accepting submissions from the following categories: digital and multimedia productions (including online video); network and cable programs; major market stations; medium market stations; small market stations; independent productions-documentary (including festival and theatrical release); and local or national radio.

Programs must have appeared on air, online or in theaters for the first time between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012. Non-English entries are eligible, as long as they is accompanied by English subtitles on screen (preferred) or a complete transcript in English.

Winners receive a silver baton, or a gold baton for truly outstanding reporting, which is inscribed with the famous observation about the power of television by the late Edward R. Murrow.

The deadline for applications is July 1.
