Journalism professionals, representatives of social movements, civil society officers, academics and students are invited to this event in Curitiba, Brazil.

The IV South American Conference of Citizen Media will be held August 6 to 8 at the Federal University of Paraná. The organizer of the conference is the university's department of communication.

The event aims to stimulate debate on democracy through communication processes. This year's theme is the "Regulatory Frameworks for Communication in Latin America."

The program will feature presentations of scientific papers, a citizen video exhibit, the Innovative Experiences in Citizen Media Fair and a citizen art show.

Register by July 6 to pay a discounted rate of BRL$80 (about US$40) for professionals and BRL$40 (about US$20) for students and representatives of social movements.
