College journalism contest open [Brazil]

College journalism students in Brazil can submit their best work to a competition.

Organized by Escola Superior do Ministério Público da União do Brasil (MPU), the competition's goal is to promote coverage and understanding of the Brazil's Public Ministry. This year's theme is "The role of the Public Ministry of the Union in combating administrative misconduct and corruption."

Works must have appeared in a college or laboratory media organization between January 1, 2012 and June 14, 2013, and focus one of the Public Ministry departments.

The top two winners will receive BRL$5,000 (about US$2,500) and BRL$3,000 (about US$1,500), respectively. The winners will be invited to the award ceremony in Brasilia, with all expenses paid.

The deadline to apply is June 15.
