The Committee to Protect Journalists seeks a researcher for its Middle East and North Africa program to work as full time in its New York office.
The successful candidate must document and respond to press freedom abuses in the region, handle communication with journalists and human rights activists, review news websites, and research and write reports.
Arabic language proficiency is a must, along with English-language writing and reporting skills. Proficiency in French is a plus, but not required.
Applicants must have an advanced (graduate) degree or bachelor's, at least two years of experience, and knowledge of Middle East media and freedom of speech issues in the region.
