Competition on human rights reporting open [UK]

Students enrolled in colleges and universities across the United Kingdom are eligible for this award.

Amnesty International UK is accepting entries for its Student Human Rights Reporter Award.

The competition celebrates rising stars who are already proving they've got what it takes to expose the truth about human rights abuses, raise public awareness and put the spotlight on those responsible.

The winner will receive a package of prizes that includes a US$2,000 Pulitzer Student Travel Reporting Fellowship (.pdf), and two weeks' work experience at the Observer.

Submissions must have been published in either a student publication or broadcast by a student radio or student television station in the United Kingdom between September 1, 2012 and February 18, 2013. The article or report can be up to 2,000 words or 10 minutes in length.

The competition deadline is February 18.
