Competition for investigative journalism open [Europe]

Investigative journalists working in broadcast, print or online media from Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine can participate in this contest.

The CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merit in Investigative Journalism will honor reporters operating under difficult conditions. The award will be presented during the South East Europe Media Forum (SEEMF), which will take place Oct. 7-8 in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. 

Applicants are accepted in two sections: professional journalists with a EUR€4,000 (US$5,348) prize and young journalists (up to 30 years) with a EUR€1,000 ($1,336) prize.

Applicants may be nominated by individuals or a group of persons, journalism organizations, media companies, journalism schools or universities or NGOs. 

The deadline is July 20.
