Journalists, photographers, graphic designers and illustrators are invited to an event in Sao Paulo.

Organized by Mandacaru Design, the conference INFOLIDE aims to strengthen visual journalism as an effective informational tool. The event will take place October 18 to 20.

The program will feature lectures, roundtables and workshops on topics including infographics, iPad use, and the creation of publication covers.

Among the speakers are Catalan journalist Jaime Serra, named the most influential infographic artist in the last 20 years by the Society for News Design; Guilhes Damian, infographics editor of iG; and Chico Homem de Melo, designer and professor at the University of São Paulo.

Registration is ongoing, but spots are limited. Costs range from BR$120 (about US$60) to BR$150 (about US$75). Workshops are priced separately.
