Conference on new media in Arab society scheduled

Journalists interested in the role of new media in Arab society can attend a three-day conference in Beirut, Lebanon.
The American University of Beirut media studies program will host "Digital Media and Literacy: New Directions," the 2011 conference of the Arab-U.S. Association of Communication Educators.
This year's theme converges digital and media literacy and their roles in changing media education. Keynote speakers include Washington Post journalist Dana Priest, Tunisian activist Sami ben Gharbia, NPR journalist Andy Carvin and others.
The conference will be held October 28-31. Registration costs US$140 with additional fees for optional excursions.
