Congress in Brazil to examine media and advertising
Deadline:
A national congress in São Paulo, Brazil, being held July 14 to 16, will examine the independence of the media from advertising. Deadline to register: June 13.
The congress, titled “Criando o Futuro” (or “Creating the Future”), aims to provide a space to discuss new resolutions that hinder the concentration of advertisements and guarantee the editorial freedom of the media.
Kofi Annan, former secretary-general of the United Nations, will open the conference with a talk on the importance of press freedom.
There are 180 spots available for communication students.
