Journalists in Brazil who work for print or digital media can compete for a prize.

Brazil’s Society of Engineers (SAE) has opened registration for the seventh edition of its journalism prize. The competition aims to encourage the coverage of air, land and naval technology in the Brazilian press.

Articles must have been published between March 1, 2012 and March 22, 2013 in print or online media categories.

For both categories, participants must send the application form and a copy of their stories (PDF format for print media and HTML or PDF for online media). In addition, applicants must include the name of the publication, and the date and place the piece was published.

Winners in both categories will receive BRL$7,000 (about US$3,500); second places will be awarded with BRL$2,000 (about US$1,000).

The deadline is March 29.
