Film, design and journalism graduates and students can participate in this contest.

The 2013 Curta Criativo is organized by the Federation of Industries in Rio de Janeiro state with the goal of revealing creative filmmakers and boosting their careers.

The contest is divided into three categories: animation, fiction and documentary. The theme is free and any format is accepted, but films must be less than five minutes long.

Winners and runner-ups will receive cash prizes of BRL$10,000 (about US$5,000) and BRL$8,000 (about US$4,000), respectively. Other prizes include technical support, internships and exhibits.

The deadline is September 20.
