Journalists and students interested in covering the 2013 Rio Carnival can enroll in this course in Rio de Janeiro.

The course, "Jornalismo Carnavalesco – Curso Avançado," is offered by Centro Universitário Augusto Motta (UNISUAM) on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., October 6 to February 9.

The program will be divided into three sections: the press offices of Rio's samba schools and Carnival groups; the different forms of media coverage and the new media, such as web radio, web television and social networks; and the coverage and broadcast of Carnival parades.

Registration costs BR$300 (about US$150). The deadline is October 3.
