Mediacentar Sarajevo and the European Journalism Center (EJC) have joined forces to upgrade and introduce a new journalism curriculum to students as well as working journalists in Bosnia-Herzegovina that will start in Autumn, 2008.

Funding for the program comes from a two-year grant that was awarded to the EJC by the Matra Social Transformation Program, which is part of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The focus of the program will be on investigative reporting and will become a part of curriculum offered by Mediacentar Sarajevo. Funding will also help upgrade and modernize the journalism curriculum at Sarajevo University among other things.

According to EJC, this is the first time the Matra program has funded a long-term program in the west Balkan country.
