Journalists interested in data journalism can participate in this event.
With the aim of fostering the new discipline of data journalism in Spain, the Open Knowledge Foundation is organizing the First Conference on Data Journalism and Open Data, which will take place May 24-26.
The event will take place in Madrid and Barcelona, and can also be followed from Seville over the weekend.
For three days, participants will be able to attend workshops led by experts who will teach participants how to work with data and the main tools to locate, convert and display data: Web scraping, spreadsheets, Google Refine, CartoDB and Tableau.
Participants will also be able to participate in BarCamp, a space where data journalism projects will be presented to share methodologies and create synergies, and a Hackathon, a competition of open data journalism projects undertaken with interdisciplinary teams over the weekend.
