Deadline approaching for course on court reporting

Indian journalists have until November 20 to register for a five-day training course on court reporting, scheduled for December 7 to 11 at the Indira Gandhi National Open University in New Delhi.
The course, “Reporting of Court Proceedings by Media and Administration of Justice,” has 50 spots for legal correspondents and journalists. There is no registration fee.
Participants will better understand media responsibilities and roles; learn technical terms and practices in court proceedings; interact with judges from the Supreme Court and High Court, and representatives of media regulatory bodies; and analyze cases studies, among other topics.
The course is being organized by the Indira Gandhi National Open University, India’s National Legal Services Authority, in association with the Press Council of India, and the Editors Guild of India.
