Deadline approaching: Toni House Journalism Award [US]

Deadline:

6/5/13

Journalists whose work has enhanced public understanding of the courts and/or significantly improved the administration of justice can apply for an award.

The AJS Toni House Journalism Award competition is open to journalists working for print, broadcast, and cable or professionally produced online media.

Entries may have a national or local focus, and may reflect a career body of work, or a single or series report on a single topic. Consideration may be given to a single news story, feature, series, documentary, special section, opinion piece or editorial if it is demonstrated in and of itself to have had extraordinary impact in achieving the objectives of the competition.

Since 1913, AJS has been dedicated to the concept that an informed public is essential to the preservation of an independent, fair and effective judiciary. By recognizing journalists for truly outstanding achievements in enhancing public understanding of the courts, the Toni House Journalism Award memorializes Toni’s remarkable work towards this goal and her strong belief that such understanding is critical to improving our justice system.

The winner will receive the award on August 9 in San Francisco.

Deadline is June 5.
