Deadline extended: Global editorial cartoon contest

Editorial cartoonists worldwide can participate in this competition.
The Global Editorial Cartoon Competition 2012, organized by the Center for International Private Enterprise, will give awards in three categories: democratic governance, entrepreneurship and youth empowerment.
Entries in the democratic governance category will address the state of global or domestic democracy. Entries in the entrepreneurship category will examine different forms of entrepreneurship, the relationship between entrepreneurship and sustainable growth, rule of law and a functioning democracy. Entries in the youth empowerment category will address the cultural, economic and legal barriers to youth’s participation in society.
Submissions may include cartoons that are single panel, strips or a two-tier strips. Submissions must be static images with no animation. English translations must be provided for any text or captions in Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish.
First-place winners in each category will receive US$1,000, and the grand prize winner will receive US$2000.
The application deadline was extended from July 15 to September 1.
