The purpose of the program is to increase public knowledge and understanding about the two countries through mass media. Ten reporters from each country will be placed in newsrooms of the other country. The reporters will produce articles for both home and foreign audiences.
Applicants must be between 21-37 years old, and be print, online or broadcast journalists. German language proficiency is not required, but it is encouraged. Each fellow will receive a US$4,000 living stipend and an additional US$1,200 for airfare.
