Documentary contest open [Dominican Republic]

The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) are seeking entries for their 2013 Max Pou Documentary Award. The award aims to stimulate the production of documentaries in the Dominican Republic.

Applicants must be Dominicans or foreign residents with a minimum of five years of legal residence in the Dominican Republic. All applicants are limited to one single entry in the open category. The documentaries must have been created between Jan. 1, 2011 and Sept. 1, 2013.

The winner will receive a cash prize of DOP150,000 (US$3,614). Documentaries that have already received prizes in any other award competition will not be accepted.

The submission deadline is Sept. 1 at 4:00 p.m. The entries must be submitted to the GFDD and FUNCLODE office in New York or Santo Domingo.
