Documentary project calls for entries [MENA]

Journalists and documentary filmmakers familiar with the Islamic culture can submit entries.

The Islam Media Project is organizing a global crowdsourced transmedia documentary project promoting the understanding of Islam and Muslims through featuring the basic beliefs and practices of Muslims during Ramadan around the world.

The project is seeking visual storytelling, not documentation of events or long interviews. Entries must portray the lives of Muslims practicing their faith, preferably during the month of Ramadan. Eligible entries are short documentaries (up to three minutes in length) on Muslims around the world, and include three main topics Salah (Prayer)/ Athan/ Mosques, Ramadan/Eid, Hajj.

The candidates will start filming on July 9.
