Senior US editors and producers can apply for a two-week reporting trip to Indonesia.

The world’s fourth largest country in population and the world’s most populous Muslim country, Indonesia exerts a growing influence as a democratic Islamic state.

The International Reporting Project is organizing a Gatekeeper Editors’ Trip to focus on issues including health, climate change and environment, economic development, the role of religion, minorities and human rights and Indonesia’s rising importance in Asia and the world.

Full-time publishers, executive editors, managing editors, broadcast producers, online editors, editorial page editors, business editors, op-ed page editors with at least seven years experience who currently manage a staff are eligible. Up to twelve applicants will be selected.

Participants are responsible for paying their own way between their home cities and Washington, D.C. The rest of the travel and accommodation costs are covered by the program. Applications are due by March 11, 2011.
