The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (HRinfo) has published a new book entitled "Libel and Defamation, and the Freedom of Opinion and Expression.” It explores the relevant Egyptian laws and explains the best defenses if journalists are sued for such crimes.

According to a news release, the book condemns libel and defamation while showing the legal ways of disproving them. It also differentiates between these crimes and the right to criticism.

Compiled by lawyer Hamdy Al Asuity, the book is the first in a series of legal studies on freedom of expression to be pubished by HRinfo. For more information: http://www.hrinfo.net/en/reports/2007/pr1223.shtml. To get a copy, contact info@hrinfo.net.
