Environmental film festival open [Brazil]

Filmmakers can submit works to this festival scheduled for July 2 to 7 in Cidade de Goiás.

The 15th International Festival of Environmental Film and Video (FICA, in Portuguese), supported by the Goiana Culture Agency, is inviting fiction, documentary and animation entries from around the world that address environmental issues.

Candidates must send the application form; two DVD copies or a link from which the film/video can be downloaded; credits; synopsis; and a list of dialogues in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a trophy and BRL$50,000 (about US$25,000). Other prizes range from BRL$10,000 (about US$5,000) to BRL$35,000 (about US$17,500).

The festival will also feature courses, workshops, seminars, forums, exhibitions, concerts, and cultural and artistic presentations.

The submission deadline is April 19.
