Environmental journalism congress scheduled [Brazil]

Media professionals and students are invited to the IV Brazilian Congress of Environmental Journalism (IV CBJA, in Portuguese) on November 17 to 19 in Rio de Janeiro.

The congress aims to prepare journalists for the news coverage of Rio+20, the UN Conference on Sustainable Development, also known as the 2012 Earth Summit, scheduled on June 4 - 6, 2012.

Organized by the Brazilian Network of Environmental Journalism, the IV CBJA will feature panels, workshops and debates. Among the topics to be examined are the challenges of sustainability, solid waste, reporting on the Rio+20, green economy, social media, and more.

The opening lecture will be held by Ignacy Sachs, eco-economist at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris.
