Journalists and graduate students from 12 Eurasian countries are eligible for the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowships, which include one to two years of study in the United States. Application deadline: November 16.

Applicants must complete their undergraduate degrees before departing their home country. The International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), which administers the Muskie Fellowship, selects the host universities to which fellows are assigned. Selected participants will begin their fellowships with an orientation in early August 2008 in Washington, D.C., before arriving at their host institutions.
