European Parliament journalism competition accepting entries (EU)

Journalists can apply for the European Parliament Prize for Journalism.
Prizes will be awarded to journalists who have made an outstanding contribution to the clarification of major European issues, or have promoted understanding of EU institutions and/or policies.
The contest is open to journalists who are EU residents or citizens and are members of EU professional journalism organizations.
There are four categories, with one winner in each category: press, radio, TV and Internet. Each winner receives €5,000 (about US$6,900).
Entries must have been broadcast or published in an EU member state between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011. Entries should also be submitted in the original language.
2010 winners included Witold Szabłowski from Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza, who wrote an article depicting the problem of illegal immigration to the European Union.
