U.S. and Korean journalists in print, broadcast or online media and at least five years experience can apply for an exchange program.

The East-West Center presents the Korea-United States Journalists Exchange, a program centered around the 2012 presidential elections in both countries, the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and their impact on the bilateral relationship.

Korean journalists will visit Washington, D.C. and Colorado, while American journalists visit Seoul, Pusan and Kwangju. Participants will meet with government officials, local journalists, educators, students and community and business leaders.

All participants will then meet in Seoul for a one-day dialogue to discuss their experiences and how to enhance media coverage of U.S.-Korea issues. The program ends with the East-West Center’s 3rd International Media Conference in Seoul titled “Networked News: How New Media Is Shaping Stories in Asia and the Pacific.”

The program covers program-related travel, lodging and meals.

The deadline is February 8, 2012.
