Fellowship to bring Latin American journalists to the Washington Post
Deadline:
Latin American and Caribbean journalists from print or digital media are invited to apply for a three-week reporting fellowship at The Washington Post newspaper in Washington, DC. Application deadline: June 30.
The three-week fellowship will provide an opportunity to conduct reporting on an issue of importance to journalists’ home countries. The project should seek to break new ground on issues of national or regional importance for Latin America and its relation with the United States. Fellows will be given a desk in the newsroom of the Post and access to a number of structured activities during their stay.
Applicants must speak English, have at least four years of professional experience, and submit an 800 word proposal in English, describing their reporting project for the period. The application must also include a CV, two letters of recommendation (at least one by the applicant’s editor), and three recently published articles.
The fellowship will run from September 14 to October 2 and winners will be announced by August 10. The fellowship includes travel, lodging and a small stipend for transportation in the city.
The fellowship is sponsored by The Washington Post and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. For more information, contact Nikki Nichols at journalism@wilsoncenter.org or click here.
