Fellowship for journalism research open [Germany]

Staff reporters and freelance journalists from regional and national media can apply.

The WZB Berlin Social Research Center and Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) are offering a Journalist in Residence Fellowship. The program enables journalists to work as visiting scholars at the WZB for six weeks to three months. Fellows can pursue their own research.

Journalists who regularly report on scientific subjects or politics, social issues and economics are eligible.

Fellows will be provided with a workplace and a monthly research stipend of EUR€3,500 (US$4,490). All resources in the institutional library may also be used without charge.

Submit applications by e-mail only, a letter of recommendation from the relevant editor-in-chief, a CV, up to five work samples and an outline of the project for the residency by Sept. 16.
