Fellowship on Latin American policies open

The University of Miami is accepting applications for a fellow to give lectures on key policies in Latin America.

This fellowship at The Center for Hemispheric Policy, sponsored by Consejo de Redaccion, is designed for political analysts, economists, journalists and academics from Latin America, the Caribbean or Canada to teach at the University of Miami on Latin American policies.

Applicants must also be able to speak and write fluently in English and have experience in democracy, economic development, competitiveness, globalization, hemispheric security, Mexico and Brazil.

The recipient of this fellowship will be granted a US$12,000 (before taxes) financial contribution for residence in Miami and reimbursements for travel costs and health insurance. A monthly stipend for living expenses will be provided, as well as privileges at the university library.

The university will provide the paperwork but fellows are responsible for applying and obtaining a J-1 visa.

The fellowship runs from mid-August to December 2011. The application deadline is July 8.
