Fellowship offered to female journalists covering human rights

The U.S.-based International Women's Media Foundation is accepting applications for the 2010/2011 Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship, which is open to women journalists whose work focuses on human rights and social justice. Deadline: April 9.

The fellowship allows one woman journalist to spend an academic year in a tailored program with access to Boston-area universities as well as the newspapers the Boston Globe and The New York Times.

The fellowship will run from September 2010 to May 2011. The Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship is named for the 1998 IWMF Courage in Journalism Award winner and Boston Globe correspondent who was killed in Iraq in May 2003.

I am female journalist working with The Citizen news papper in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa

I am currently speacializing in court reporting and other stories relating to judiciary and justices but have already wrote stories about human rights.

I would like to know if iam qualifying to apply for the fellowship.
