Fellowship, research grants for journalists [Arab region]
Deadline:
Writers and reasearchers are invited to apply to the Arab Freedom of Association Network Regional Fellowship.
Organized by the The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), the program will award up to three regional fellowships to qualified civil society leaders and freedom of association advocates to advance civil society law initiatives.
Participants will spend three to four weeks working with a host NGO. Travel expenses as well as room and board for the agreed-upon time period will be covered by the Center.
Both fellows and host organizations must be from Jordan, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen, or Palestine. Fellows are required to post at least two blog entries per week discussing their experiences and lessons learned on the ICNL website.
Another initiative was also launched by ICNL related to the same topic, offering four grants of US$1000 each for the preparation of research papers on legal environment for civil society and freedom of association.
Deadline for applications/proposals for fellowships and grants is May 31.
