Writers under age 35 from Central European countries are invited to apply for a writers in residence program.

Eligible countries include Albania, Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

The award, supported by the Slovene Writers’ Association, is aimed at encourage cross-border cooperation and promotion in the field of literature for young writers who live in Central Europe.

The fellowship is endowed with a cash award of €5,000 (about US $6,700) for a three-month stay in any of the Central European Initiative Member States, selected by the candidate.

The fellowship winner will be a guest of the 26th Vilenica International Literary Festival which will take place from September 7- 11 2011 at various locations in Slovenia.
