Fellowships for mid-career journalists will focus on coverage of violence

Mid-career journalists from the Americas, Europe and the Australasia who want to deepen their knowledge of trauma and improve coverage of violence, conflict and tragedy can apply for a fellowship. Deadline: July 21.
The fellowships, called the Ochberg Fellowships, are open to print, broadcast and online reporters, photographers, editors and producers. Applicants must have at least five years' full-time journalism experience. Six to ten fellows will be selected by the organizer, the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma.
Fellows will attend an intensive weeklong seminar program in Montreal, Canada from November 2 to 6. The program will include briefings by leading interdisciplinary experts in the trauma field and discussions with journalists. Fellows will also attend the annual conference of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies during the week. The fellowships will cover all travel and ground expenses.
