Film contest on domestic violence open [Brazil]
Deadline:
Television journalists and filmmakers in Brazil can compete in this contest.
Brazil's Office of Communication and the Special Prosecutor for Women, with support of the World Bank, are seeking entries to the Maria da Penha Law Contest.
The contest's theme, "Do you have a story about the Maria da Penha Law? Tell the world," refers to Brazil's federal law against domestic violence.
Films must be in either documentary or news reporting format between five and 10 minutes long.
Five winners will receive BR$10,000 (about US$5,000) each and will have their works broadcast.
The deadline is December 21. Materials must be submitted in DVD format (VHS or MiniDV are not accepted).
